1. China Insurance Corporation (HK) Limited
China Insurance Company (Hong Kong) Limited (EJ MIRAD, a China-based company set up in Hong Kong, came into operation in December, 1980. The local partners of the company are Ming An Insurance Company Limited (香港民安保險有限公司) and the Pacific Insurance Company Limited (太平保 ĦRA). The capital was $10 million, with China Insurance Company Limited holding 40 per cent of the stake while the other two local companies had a 30 per cent interest each.
The company uses Hong Kong as a base and is engaged in international insurance business, including marine insurance, fire insurance, accident insurance and construction insurance.
At present, there are altogether three China-based insurance companies in Hong
Kong.
