Xiamen's Airport to Re-open

Da Gong Bao on 16 February said that Kaochi Airport, close to
Xiamen in Fujian Province and disused for the past 30 years, would be put
back into operation to help cope with the increased communications and
transportation needs generated by the designation of a special economic
zone in the port city.
Hong Kong financed apartments go on sale in Shanghai

Advertised in the Hong Kong press on 24 February as the first
completed residential complex in China, apartments at the "Yuen Nam Wah Kiu
Chinese Village" in Shanghai were offered for sale to overseas Chinese "for
use by their relatives residing in Shanghai, their authorised representatives,
or their own use". The development of 11 six-storey buildings was financed by Heysham Enterprises Ltd with planning and consultancy by Busch Worldwide
Property Brokerage Ltd, both Hong Kong companies. The estate was built by
Shanghai's China Enterprises Corporation.
