According to Lei Renmin, Vice Chairman of the China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC) on
17 July, his organisation would be establishing a subsidiary called CITIC Consulting Services which would perform feasibility studies on joint ventures with foreign companies wanting to
invest in China.

In the continued effort to promote foreign investment in the Province, Guangdong has been allowed to take a more relaxed position on the advertising activities of overseas investors. The Guangdong Advertising Corporation (formed in
· 1979
as a subsidiary of the Guangdong Foreign Trade Corporation) is in the process of standardising the rates for advertisement hoardings out of doors, in hotels, exhibition halls and other public places. To furnish advertisers (both Chinese and over- seas) with better marketing information, the Province has also formed the Guangdong Information and Technical Service Company which is negotiating with a Hong Kong firr. Survey Research Hong Kong for exchange of marketing information and such market research as maybe requested by their clients.
Guangdong's Industrial Output Value

According to NCNA on 12 July the value of Guangdong's industrial output in the first six months of this year reached RMB 11,900 million (US$7,400 million approx.), an increase of 11% over the same period last year.
