IMMIGRATION

From China

In June a total of 4462 legal immigrants arrived from China without onward travel documents, producing once again a total daily average around the 150 level.

During the month, a total of 678 illegal immigrants from China, a daily average of 23, were arrested on first arrival, as compared with 1207 (39) in May and nearly 8,000 (266) in June 1980.
