I am sorry that your absence from London to attend the Ottawa summit deprived me of the pleasure of seeing you in London as originally arranged and I have no doubt that you had a successful trip.
As you may know I had a very good meeting with the Prime Minister during which I reported to her on my recent visit to Beijing and my talk with Vice Chairman' Deng Xiao-ping, as well as on a wide range of topics.
