1. I have minuted separately about this. At present, the plans are for Sir Murray to see the Secretary of State, Mr Ridley, Mr Donald, the Department and the Governor of the Bank of England at 4.00 pm in the afternoon.

The Chief Clerk has said that Sir Peter Carey, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Industry, would like a word with Sir Murray. Please keep in touch with the Private Office. Find out where and when the Secretary of State can see the Governor and then put together a short telegram from me to the Governor with a timetable.
