I am making another fairly extensive tour in Asia during October and November and shall be visiting Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and Hong Kong although not China on this occasion.
I am reasonably familiar with many of these countries but in the past the Office has been good enough to supply me with up to date briefing and to inform the Ambassadors/ High Commissioners of my visit. In Burma I expect to say "goodbye" to U Ne Win and I would like to pay courtesy call: on the Prime Ministers in Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India. I should be most grateful for the good offices of our people out there in that regard and for any inform- ation on recent developments which the Office can provide.
