Meetings with UMELCO, Urban Council and Press Conference (Sir E Youde asked last time that briefing for these three meetings be combined. Thiswas not done previously. A separate brief for each would be better for the Secretary of State even though much common ground was covered. As a compromise, I would recommend one for UMELCO, with whom Lord Carrington will spend quite a lot of time and can talk much more freely (no wives present) and one for the Urban Council and the press conference.)
