Where the Doy n is the representative of one of the States or kinds of entity described in para 11.1, the Briti i representative maz onduct business with him in his capacity as Doyen but should, if nectary (particularly if an attempt is made to misrepresent the situation), make it clear that he is dealing with him exclusively as the person for the time being holding that position, and that such ealings carry no implication with regard to HMG's attitude towards the entity concerned.

At some Posts it is not practicable to apply these principles fully. Where there is doubt, PCD should be asked to give guidance.
