(i) Electioneering problems and fixing
of maximum limit of election
expenses NTA's recommendation of a basic amount of 30,000 for the first 20,000 entries per constitu- ency conveyed to DALA. Meeting of Steering Group on Electioneering and Associated Problems held. Problems to be further discussed.
Members for 1981-82 appointed. Review of DAB profile 1980-81 completed.
(a) CHK Campaign
Action Groups continue to be active and preliminary discussion held for the Grand Opening Ceremony on 25.10.81. Based on suggestions of the Community Involvement Sub- Committee, DOO have worked out their district activities and application has been made to DFS for allocation of funds.
(b) Fight Crime Campaign
Funds have been obtained from GIS and allocated to districts.
(c) Fire Prevention Campaign
$17,000 has been obtained from GIS to fund activities in TW, TP & SK Publicity measures for 1981/82 have been worked out by Working Group.
DOO plan to form a total of 21 fire watch patrol teams in the NT in 81/82.
To continue the search for more district personalities for possible appointment.
To continue to service the NT Advisory Committee and certain of its Action Groups. Intensive operations to commence in October 1981 but considerable preparation work is being undertaken in the NT.
To continue to monitor district community involvement activities and to explore ways and means to prevent further increase in juvenile crime.
