9. CNAA validation of courses
Progress made and present position
(b) A supernumerary post has been created
to accommodate an Administrative Officer Staff Grade B1 to plan the setting up of the future Technical Education and Industrial Training Department.
(c) Two sites at Tai Lin Pai Road, Kwai
Chung, and Tai Yip Street, Kowloon Bay, have been earmarked for the training complexes of the VTC. Special condi- tions for these two land grants have been circulated.
To ensure reasonable standards (a) in post-secondary colleges and the Polytechnic.
(i) The interim improvements in financial assistance to the Hong Kong Baptist College have been accepted by the College and implemented accordingly.
(i) The Hong Kong Baptist College has
accepted the Government's proposed modifications to the Hong Kong Baptist College Board of Governors Incorporation Ordinance (Cap. 1126) to provide for the new role and status of the College. The University and Polytechnic Grants Committee (UPGC) is examining the implications of the Baptist College being upgraded to be a degree- conferring institution and will comment upon the new legislation in that context.
