Purpose
To provide sufficient land in accordance with the Memoranda of Agreement for construction of permanent bus depots and use as temporary parking areas for buses.
To review existing private treaty grant policy with particular reference to developments proposed by CMB, KMB and HYF.
Progress Made & Present Position
It has been decided to offer KMB the proposed grant site at Kowloon Bay on STT for bus parking for a term not exceeding 5 years on the understanding that permanent development of a bus depot will commence within this period, CMB has executed the Conditions of Grant for its site at Wong Chuk Hang. Both companies' depot requirements are to be examined by the Working Group on Bus Fare Increasesį The Group is now looking at KMB and the review for CMB will start sometime in November.
