Next Quarter's Target
a) 1,699 illegal immigrants were arrested during
this quarter compared with 2,413 in the previous quarter (and 37,068 for the same quarter in 1980). Daily average of arrests in August, September & October were 17, 22 and 17 respectively.
b) 312 evaders were arrested in the urban areas.
Figures for the successive months were 111 and 80.

c) Border Fence. All work completed except Phase
Ila (Tak Kwu Ling realignment area) and Phase V (Yuen Long Creek to Tsim Bei Tsui). Funds approved for Fence Protection System and Barbed Tape and work on their installation has begun.
a) Joint Maritime Communications Project. Funds
approved and invitations to tender have been sent out.
Standard of fitting out for the Replacement Centres and level of customer service will also be determined.
The Park Commercial Centre has been ear- marked as the site fr the new ROP HQ.
