Provision of
production space for
the television licensees
Purpose
To locate, in conjunction with the television licensees, suitable sites for the reprovisioning or expansion of present television production facilities.
Progress Made and Present Position
a) RTV still wished to defer
its decision on whether to seek formal approval to the proposed grant.
b) TVB was in liaison with DO
Shatin. The station obtained S for I's & CTEL's support in principle for the concept of a private treaty grant of land in Shatin.
Next Quarter Target
a) To discuss further their
intentions with RTV.
b) to process an application
from TVB, including the preparation of terms and conditions.

Journalism training
In view of the overall lack of training in Hong Kong, Government to take the lead in arranging training for practising journalists.
A Thomson Foundation Journalism Training Course started on 2nd November. A total of 62 people enrolled on the series of courses as against 14 for last year.
To monitor the progress of the course and to consider the shape of training in 1982.
