Purpose
To increase progressively to the approved level of Public Affairs Television production per week by 1981/82.
Progress Made and Present Position
(a) The 3 electronic field
production units have been ordered for Jan. 82.
(b) Arrangements have been set in hand for a move nearer to BH by the Television Department.
Next Quarter Target
To monitor progress and to progress towards improved accommodation.
VHF/FM Transmission

Plan
a) To extend and improve
the reception of FM broadcasting services throughout Hong Kong;
b) to provide an FM backup
for existing AM transmission;
c) to provide for limited
local radio services for RTHK (see Item 7 below),
A Cable & Wireless Ltd. team came to HK in September to define the scope of the proposed extended consultancy. Following several meetings with interested parties, they reported on various options for further tests.
To consider the consultants' report & to decide in conjunction with PMG and DCA the next steps.
