Purpose
To introduce an Environmental Impact Statement Bill
To provide up-to-date information on the present and future availability of land for all purposes in a land production programme.
Progress Made & Present Position
(e) 2nd draft general statement
discussed internally within the EPA. Work on the 3rd draft has begun.
(a) The Special Committee on Land Production's Report to the Governor for 1980 and a Technical Report for the year, were drafted and circulated to members in January and February 1981.
(b) The Land Disposal Sub-Committee
continued to monitor disposals against targets, and implemented the first part of a revised land disposal monitoring system.
(c) Land inventory system pilot study
on Chai Wan completed and Instruction Manual drafted.
Next Quarter Targets
(e) To complete 3rd draft general statement and circulate to departments for comments..
(a) SCLP to consider draft
of Report to the Governor, and work programme for 1981, in March 1981.
(b) Complete the revision
of the land disposal monitoring system.
(c) Recruit temporary staff
for land inventory system pilot study Tai Po.
