Progress Made and Present Position
$1,003,000 was set aside to Send athletes to the Olympic Games.
To provide a sports centre and coaching facilities to raise the standard of high performance sport in Hong Kong.
The Council For Recreation and Sport recommended that as Hong Kong athletes boycotted the Games, some of this money be unfrozen to permit HK teams to compete elsewhere. The Promotion of Sports Vote was therefore increased by $289,000.
