To provide more active recreational facilities.
To provide land for village expansion and to ensure properly planned development.
To examine internal arrangements and seek public opinion with a view to production of White Paper to improve District Administration.
First meeting held with DNTD, DNTS, CRC and DFS on 13.1.81 to consider provision of additional temporary facilities and possibilities of expediting provision of permanent recreational facilities.
Pilot areas identified and being examined.
Following publication of WP on 14.1.81, action has been taken to implement proposals in the WP which is summarized as follows :
(a) Draft District Bill under consideration.
(b) Maps on constituency boundaries (in the
form of a series of district folders) being prepared in consultation with Survey Branch of PWD and Printing Department.
(c) Number of polling stations required
(121) submitted to DAMS.
(d) Publicity strategy discussed and DOS
asked to focus public attention on the White Paper proposals on suitable occasions and through the normal liaison network covering MACs, traditional organizations and residents' welfare associations, etc.
To hold second meeting on 17.2.81 and to report recommendations to CS.
To submit proposal to ExCo through S for
(a) Finalization of DB Bill.
(b) Publication of constituency boundaries in early May HYK to be briefed in March.
DBs and
(c) Clarification of polling stations according to size, working out of manning scale and agreement on polling staff by early August.
(d) A series of DB projects being drawn
up for special publicity to be arranged and DOs to brief local bodies and residents on suitable
occasions.
