the Securities Commission has considered the third alternative suggested by ESB and the consultative document on this subject issued by DoT, but has reiterated its original
recommendation that full
disclosure be required.
A
draft ExCo memorandum is now being finalized.
Interim legislation in the form of the Life Insurance Companies (Amendment) Ordinance and the Fire and Marine Insurance Companies Deposit (Amendment) Ordinance was enacted on 8th January 1981.
(ii) Work on the comprehensive Bill
continuing. It is hoped that
a 2nd draft of the Bill will be released soon for consultation with the industry.
