3. The planned provision of part-time day places in the academic year 1981/82 has
exceeded the maximum practical capacity of 13,930 which was ctipulated for this mode of attendance in the Green Paper on Senior Secondary and Tertiary Education published in November, 1977: This increase in provision is needed to satisfy the demand of industry and is achieved by reducing the provision of full-time places correspondingly.
