Companies Ordinance to be amended to require directors, major shareholders (with 10% shareholdings or more) and professional advisers to disclose their holdings of and dealings in shares of the company. Drafting instructions are being prepared for discussions with interested government departments and outside bodies.
Second draft of the comprehensive Bill was released by AG for consultation with the insurance industry.

Since the outbreak of rabies in Hong Kong, eighteen cases, involving three human deaths, have been confirmed. Five infected areas, stretching from Kat 0 Island and Plover Cove in the northeast to Tai Lam Chung Reservoir and Tap Shek Kok in the northwest of the New Territories, have been declared. Four road blocks on arterial roads have been set up to stop movement of dogs into and out of the infected areas.
(ii) Over 104 000 dogs have been inoculated
and 66 000 dogs humanely destroyed.
