Outline Plan
Purpose
To coordinate, consider and review any necessary amendments or revisions to the HKOP to reflect changes in policies relating to the utilization of land and to the scale of provision of various services and facilities.
Progress Made & Present Position
Reviews on the following major HKUP standards have been initiated :
a) Population densities in public
housing estates: LDPC endorsed working group's recommendations, including the use of a general planning standard of 3,000 persons per gross hectare in second-genera- tion new towns (as opposed to 2,500 p.p.ha. previously), with the use of new block designs.
b) Domestic plot ratios in New Towns: A draft report from the consultants was circulated to departments for comments.
c) Standards of provision for indust-
rial land: Working group drafted a revised HKOP chapter on Industry, including revisions to the basic parameters for industrial classif- ication, worker occupancy rates and plot ratios.
d) Standards of provision for welfare
facilities.
e) Standards of provision for recrea-
tional facilities: Working group under CR & C continued its deliberat tions.
Next Quarter Targets
a) Population densities:

b) Domestic Plot Ratios:
Monitor progress of consultants and submit their draft report to LDPC.
c) Industrial Land :
Proposals to be submitted to PWD Conference and HKOP Steering Group.
d) Welfare Facilities :
Convene Working group meeting to discuss proposals from DSW.
