Purpose
Franchised Bus To respond to requests by KMB and Services

CMB for fare increases; to review standards of bus services, of KMB in particular, and to re-examine the Agreements concluded with both companies following a study of the operational and financial requirements of each.
Progress Made & Present Position
(a) Following TAC's advice, proposals for
fare increases were taken to ExCo. New scales come into effect on 12.4.81.
(b) A Working Group has been
established to examine the various aspects of KMB's operations ques- tioned by TAC, with sub-groups studying individual issues such as depot requirements, profit control schemes, bus purchasing.
(c) The C for T is continuing
monthly meetings with the managers of both companies and has developed a regular schedule to monitor services.
(d) Route development programmes have been prepared and will be dis- cussed and agreed with the com- panies and through the District Boards.
(e) A revised draft Bill to amend the Public Omnibus Services Ordinance is under consideration.
