To involve and widen public participation in district affairs.
Members for 1981 - 82 appointed. Review of DAB profile 1980 - 81 completed.
To continue the search for more district personalities for possible appointment.

Government
sponsored

campaigns
To mobilize community support for and involve the community in public or social campaigns pro- moted by the Government.
(a) CHK Campaign
Action Groups on Rural Cleansing, Country Parks and Cleansing Facilities have been active and plans made for projects to be implemented later this year.
To continue to service the N.T. Advisory Committee and certain of its Action Groups. Intensive operations to commence in October 1981 but considerable preparation work is being under- taken in the N.T. Planning will start soon on the launching of 1st phase of the campaign.
(b) Fight Crime Campaign
DOO have been asked to submit their proposed programmes and budget for funds apportion- ment purpose.
To continue to monitor district community involvement activities and to explore ways and means to prevent further increase in juvenile crime.
