Following the publication of WP on 14 1.81, action has been taken to implement proposals in the WP which is summarized as follows :
(a) Draft District Board, Electoral Provisions and UC (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill considered and going to ExCo on 9th June.
(b) Proofs of maps on constituency boundaries for display finalized by Survey Branch of PWD and will be sent to the Government Printer soon.
(c) Number of polling stations required (129)
submitted to DAMS.
(d) Publicity programme to encourage regi-
stration Layman's Guide (100,000) provided to NTA. API had been telecast since 18/5/81. Request put up to DFS to employ 92 TCOs to encourage regi- stration/for the provision of $180,000 as funds for the publicity campaign.
