Purpose
In recognition of the importance of transport policies to establish a separate Transport Branch associated with a strengthened Transport Department and a new Branch for Lands and Works.
Progress Made & Present Position
(c); The C for T is continuing monthly
meetings with the managers of both companies and has developed a regular schedule to monitor services.

A revised draft Bill to amend the Public Omnibus Services Ordinance is under consideration.
(a) Organisational and staffing
proposals for the Branch are being processed.

Discussions on the transfer of Highways Office services to Transport Branch are in progress.
