Progress made and present position

The project definition study on a computerised central registry has been completed and the study report is being awaited. Concurrently, following advice by the Rehabilita- tion Development Co-ordination Committee (R.D.C.C.), a draft FCai is being prepared to seek the necessary funds to set up the Registry on a manual basis in the first instance. The project will start with the conversion of data from departmental/agency registries onto a standard format in such a manner that the need for a second conversion if a decision is taken later to computerize the system, will be obviated. The conversion exercise is expected to start in October 1981 and take one year to complete.
