Has been a professional social worker and served on various Committees of the Hong Kong Council of Social Services, and member of the Advisory Committee on Social Work Training and the Committee of the Hong Kong Social Workers' Association.

Current Member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee, the Medical Development Advisory Committee and Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. Unlike many academics who confine themselves within a university campus, Dr. Ho is well known for his con- tributions in the social welfare field. Because of this connection, he tends to concentrate on social welfare in Legislative Council, where his contributions are well thought out and generally well-regarded.

A gentle and amicable personality, Dr. Ho's main interests are tennis, swimming, picnicking and folk guitar playing.
