MEMORANDUM ON POLICY TOWARDS THE DEPENDENT TERRITORIES: ESSENTIAL FACTS
1. The present Memorandum took a long time to draft and agree
with OAGS. However, it usefully focused Ministers' attention on
policy towards the dependent territories and was approved by the
Secretary of State in October 1979.
2. No further action remains, other than to finalise it in a
form which incorporates a few minor comments to the final draft
already made by OAGS.
