1. I had a meeting with Mr Patterson (POD) on a number of points, but also to ask him to take note of a number of appointments in DS5 which would need to be filled in 1981/82. I had already minuted separately to Mr Brighty about posts in DS4 in 1981.
2. POD expressed interest in putting forward candidates for all the posts mentioned:

3. The only immediate action is over the Colonial Treasurer, St Helena, and POD will be sounding out a possible candidate (see my separate minute following my meeting with Mr Guy and Mr Massingham).
