The Council noted that the question raised

in paragraph 45 of the Report of increasing the

percentage of pension which may be commuted to

provide a lump sum payment would be taken up

again with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The Council further noted that it was the

present intention to announce the decisions on

Directorate salaries, the Upper End of Civil Service Pay Scales (memorandum XCC (80)56) and

the Report on the Pay of Staff of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (memorandum

XCC (80)57) simultaneously after the proposals

in the latter two memoranda had been reconsidered,

with the outcome of the pay trend survey in.

April 1980 to be announced subsequently.
