Steering Committee. Nevertheless Umelco also advised DSW in writing on 10 June to write to the Union to keep them informed of the current position in the matter, and to invite them to a meeting to allay their fears of being discriminated against or ignored.

DSW responded to the Umelco suggestion by writing to the Union on 23 June (copy attached) inviting them again to forward their views for the Steering Committee's consideration or to meet with the Working Group.

The Union has recently sent a letter to the Social Welfare Department covering a range of subjects,

some but not all of which are relevant to the extension of the Welfare Class Review to the voluntary sector. It has been agreed with the Union that there should first be a meeting with the Social Welfare Department on the contents of their letter and this meeting has been now arranged for 18 July.
