Islands or the Isle of Man or Gibraltar shall not be required to obtain a re-entry visa for their return from travel outside the said territories.
(5) The competent authorities of the United Kingdom, The Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar on the one hand and of Austria on the other hand reserve the right to refuse leave to enter or stay in their territory to any person who is considered undesirable by those authorities or is otherwise ineligible under the general policy of the respective Contracting States relating to the entry or residence of aliens.
(6) Each Contracting State undertakes to accept back into its territory at any time persons who have entered the territory of the other Contracting State under the terms of the Agreement. For the purposes of this paragraph the word territory" shall mean, in relation to the United Kingdom, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
(7) The entry of Austrian nationals into territories for the international relations of which the Government of the United Kingdom are responsible, other than The Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar, or the entry into Austria of British subjects not in possession of passports as defined in paragraph (1)(a) above shall not come within the scope of the Agreement.
(8) Either Contracting State may suspend the foregoing provisions in whole or in part temporarily for reasons of public policy, security, or public health. Any such suspension shall be notified immediately to the other Contracting State through the diplomatic channel.
(9) The Agreement shall remain in force until terminated by either Contracting State giving six months' notice in writing to the other through the diplomatic channel.
2. If the foregoing proposals are acceptable to the Republic of Austria, I have the honour to suggest that the present Note and Your Excellency's reply to that effect shall be regarded as constituting an Agreement between the two Contracting States in this matter which shall enter into force on the thirtieth day following the Exchange of the Notes.(*)
