(d) Persons who have entered Austria holding the document specified in sub-paragraph (a)(iv) above are entitled to stay for transit purposes for seventy-two hours in the territory of the Austrian Republic from the date of their arrival. This period may be extended by the competent Austrian authority if the passage through Austria has to be interrupted for reasons such as sudden illness or dislocation in the public transport system.
(e) Children under sixteen years of age whose names are included in any of the documents specified in sub-paragraphs (a) (i) to (iv) above held by one or the other of their parents and who are travelling in the company of that parent shall not require an individual travel document.
(2) (a) Austrian citizens holding any one of the travel documents specified hereinafter shall be free to travel without a visa from any place whatsoever to the United Kingdom, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man :
(i) a valid Austrian passport; or
(ii) a valid Austrian children's identity card in accordance with the
specimen which is enclosed as Annex C;(1) or
(iii) a valid Austrian identity card (a specimen of which is at Annex D(1)) together with a British Visitor's Card (a specimen of which is at Annex E(1)).
(b) Austrian citizens holding the documents specified in sub-paragraphs (2) (a) (i) or (ii) above shall be free to travel without a visa from any place whatsoever to Gibraltar.
(c) Austrian citizens holding the document specified in sub-paragraph (2)(a)(iii) above are eligible to enter the United Kingdom, The Channel Islands or the Isle of Man provided that their stay does not exceed three months and is not for employment. This period may be extended by the competent British authority provided the person concerned first obtains a valid Austrian passport.
(d) Children under fifteen years of age whose names are included in any of the documents specified in sub-paragraphs (2) (a) (i) and (iii) above, held by one or the other of their parents and who are travelling in the company of that parent shall not require an individual travel document.
(3) The waiver of the visa requirement shall not exempt persons entering the United Kingdom, The Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or Gibraltar on the one hand or Austria on the other hand, from the necessity of complying with the respective laws and regulations of these territories (as they are in force at any given time) concerning the entry, residence and employment or occupation of foreigners. Persons who are unable to satisfy the immigration authorities that they comply with these laws and regulations are liable to be refused leave to enter or land.
(4) British subjects and British Protected Persons who are in possession of a residence permit for the Republic of Austria and Austrian citizens who are in possession of a residence permit for the United Kingdom, The Channel
