LEGAL REPORT
THE IMMIGRATION SERVICE (AMENDMENT)
ORDINANCE 1980
(No. 16 of 1980)
Enclosure No. 2
Under the former provisions of section 6 of the Immigration Service Ordinance warrant cards issued to every member of the Immigration Service were required to be signed personally by the Director of Immigration. It was considered that, with the expansion of the Service, this requirement was no longer practicable. Section 6 was amended accordingly. It is considered that the removal of the requirement for warrant cards to be signed will not detract from the security of these documents.
2. Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Acting Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
