further provides that the Schedule may be amended by
the Legislative Council by resolution.
Parts VIIA and VIIB of the principal Ordinance
were enacted as temporary measures to enable more
effective action to be taken to prevent and penalize
trafficking in unlawful immigration. It is now
considered desirable that these Parts become part of
the permanent law. Clauses 3 and 4 therefore repeal
the expiry provisions.
There are no financial or staffing implications.
