For residence
Entry of relatives is restricted to:-
wives joining husbands
children (normally under 21) joining one or both
parents
orphans joining close relatives
husbands (normally over 50 years of age; otherwise with
close previous Hong Kong connections)
widows and widowers joining close relatives
other relatives are normally refused unless
compassionate or humanitarian factors are involved.

Entry for employment may be approved where the applicant possesses some special skill or knowledge not readily
available in Hong Kong.
