Analysis of arrivals at Lowu from 7 to 13 April 1980 of travellers holding travel documents issued in the People's Republic of China

Within this period 877 documents were recorded, covering 1,098 travellers. The great majority were valid for return : of the 74 single journey permits recorded in this period, 43 were issued in places in Guangdong province other than Guangzhou; 7 were issued in Guangzhou, 3 in Hubei and 21 in Fujian. Permits were issued for varying periods of validity (in the case of single journey permits the period refers to the time within which the permit had to be used). Of the 877 :

Within this period 43% of the permits issued in Fujian province were valid for more than 1 year and 40% for one year. 99.5% of the permits issued in Guangzhou were valid for one year.
