single female children and 18 in the case ci single male children if reasonable cause could be shown. In addition, the circumstances in which approval may be given for the entry of unmarried children over 21 years of age are specifically stated. (Para- graph 1(c) of Annex A compared with paragraph 2(c) of Annex B).
The normal minimum age for the entry of parents to join their children in the Colony is to be reduced so as to permit entry when one of the parents is over the age of 50. (Paragraph 1(d) of Annex A compared with paragraph 2(d) of Annex B).
Provision is made for the entry of widows or of a divorced wife of any age and widowers over 50 years of age to join their nearest or only surviving relatives in the Colony. (Paragraph 2(e) of Annex B).
Provision is also made for the entry of persons who possess a special skill or knowledge in short supply in the Colony or who are likely to make a substantial contribution to the economy of the Colony. (Para- graph 2(g) of Annex B).
As regards (c), (e) and (f) above, the age in the corresponding policy for the entry of "overseas" Chinese and other aliens is at present 60. A further amendment would be made in that policy if Council approve the age of 50 as a criterion for entry from China, Macau and Taiwan.

Honourable Members will be asked to advise whether the policy regarding the entry from China, Macau and Taiwan of persons of Chinese race not in possession of valid national passports, as outlined in Annex B, should be approved.
