No Parliamentary procedure was laid down in the 1948 Act in relation to an Order in Council made under section 30. It is

probably necessary to make some suitable provision in the Bill for such Orders in Council (the question of Parliamentary procedure for instruments made under the new Act more generally will be dealt with in supplementary Instructions). The draftsman's advice on this would be helpful; an obligation merely to lay, without

more, after the Crder has been made would be desirable if this

were feasible.

11.2 British Protected Persons in the United Kingdom or 2

dependency when the Act comes into force

11.21

A British Protected Person who has at any time been settled

in the United Kingdom and had at that time been ordinarily resident there for the last 5 years, is to be entitled to be registered as

11.22. A British Protected Person who is settled in the United

Kingdom when the. Act comes into force, but who has not then been

ordinarily resident for 5 years, is to have an entitlement to be

registered as a Eritish Citizen once he has completed 5 years
