PERANENT PROVISIONS

(The provisions for the acquisition of citizenship of the British
Dependent Territories are, with minor exceptions, to follow the relevant provisions for Eritish citizenship in Part 5).
7.1 Birth
7.11
Subject to paragraph 7.12 below, a child born in a
depender.cy is to be a citizen of the British Dependent Territories
if, but only if, one of his parents is at the time of the birth a
citizen of the British Dependent Territories or settled in that
dependency.
7.12 A new-born infant found abandoned in a dependency is, unless
the contrary is shown, to be treated as if he was born in the
dependency and is to acquire citizenship of the BDT (as in section
2(2) of the 1964 (No. 2) Act).
7.13 A person born in a dependency who does not become a citizen
of the DT under the last two paragraphs is to be entitled during
his minority to be registered as such by the Secretary of State
if either of his parents becomes such a citizen or becomes seitlei
