transport problem. Besides, renovation and extension works in connection with Sai Sha Road, Clear Water Bay Road, Sha Tau Kok Road and Lantau Island Road, progress sluggishly. Ferry services in respect of the Islands District, pier facilities and works on the extension of shipping routes do not match the economic development and the increase of population. The transportation facilities in the New Territories development should be granted a priority.

EXPECTATION
In the foregoing eight Items there are three of which we wish to lay special emphasis on, namely the newly proposed British Immigrant Laws as regards the Colonization Policy expectedly effecting Hong Kong, the appointment of Senior Councillors of the Kuk o the Legislative Council of Hong Kong to meet an urgent need for the development in the New Territories and the cancellation of Section 12(c), Chapter 124 in the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance, which if granted will allow the potential value of the land to appear, and profits therefrom may go in part to the landowners whose land has been resumed for development purposes. As to the resumption of land by the Government for the use of building public houses, to be sold or let out for return or profits, this is apparently a problem that conflicts with the Government policy which aims at improving living condition of the local inhabitants, and more- over affects the project in respect of the land
