(a) the introduction of provisions, along lines similar to the

relevant English legislation, for child destruction, in order to protect a child capable of being born alive but before it has an existence independent of its mother;

(b) the transfer of the existing provisions relating to infanticide

from the Criminal Procedure Ordinance (Chapter 221) to the Offences Against the Person Ordinance (Chapter 212); and

(c) the revision of the level of penalties for illegal abortions.
