Since July 1979 the Belgian government has changed its quota for
Vietnamese refugees from 150 to 300, then 600 and finally 2,000.
This programme was financed by the Belgian government. These 2,000
refugees were looked after by 6 NGOs as follows:

These agencies cooperate closely with UNHCR, ICEM and government.
government has established a quota, the agencies receive and process
names of refugees received from countries of first asylum which are
then visaed by government.
Once
The number resettled from Hong Kong was so far small, 160 in total. Belgium is now becoming aware of the problem of family reunion.
