I had
Interview together with Dr. Steinhaeuser by Radio Hessen. sufficient time to describe in detail Hong Kong and the boat refugee issue, Dr. Steinhaeuser confirmed his government's readiness to
support a general quota increase.

10 a.m.:
Meeting with Ministerialrat Dr. Rendschmidt, Referent fuer Schwerbehinderten Angelegenheiten (in charge of matters related to the disabled). I had asked for information regarding the employment of the disabled. This hour was most helpful to me
and I hope to the Employment Sub-Committee of RDCC as we have
to arrive at a helpful answer to this problem in Hong Kong. I was happy to learn that Germany's method is close to my proposal
to establish a vote within the Labour Department so that alterations or additions to equipment and building can be reimbursed with a minimum of delay. Dr. Rendschmidt is willing to keep in contact
with me and to give me advice out of a lifetime of experience in
this field.
