resettled from Hong Kong; of these 50% went to the United States of

America; 25% to Canada and 18 to the United Kingdom.

Procedures and arrangements in Hong Kong

On arrival in Hong Kong territorial waters refugee boats are escorted

to the former Government dockyard, now renamed the Canton Road Reception

Centre (but referred to by the refugees themselves as "The Black

Warehouse"). Here they undergo initial processing and health checks.

Hilu are/moved

The refugees are moved to one of the open camps

(unless they are found to be "China" cases (see below).

voluntary organisation on behalf of UNHCR, as follows:-
