Dear Dick,

Vietnamese Refugees: Resettlement in U.K.

20

Further to our Tel. No. 393 of 15th March, Malcolm Chadderton of the Immigration Department here has discussed on the telephone with Alan Marshall of the JCRV the question of topping up dropouts.

2.

They have agreed on a mutually satisfactory formula whereby the ICEM office here will medically examine refugees in the order in which they appear in the UK selection list, but keeping perpetually 150-200 ahead of those called forward. This will enable the Immigration Department, who will keep in close contact with JCRV over this, to replace dropouts quickly.

3. We are most grateful to all concerned for making these arrangements possible.
