The numbers under detention represents the number of Vietnamese

Refugees who have been settled in China before coming to Hong Kong

illegally.

2. 10,255 refugees have arrived since 1st January 1980, the increase

of 105 since 2nd September is due to the arrival of three small boats

and the "Singwind" which rescued 20 refugees in South China Sea.

3. UNHCR has resettled 25,617 refugees since 1st January of which

248 in the past week.
