During the 1980s further expansion of special education is planned. By 1982 there should be no shortfall in special education places for the deaf, the blind and the physically handicapped. However, the shortfall in places for mentally handicapped children will remain significant and provision of the necessary special schools will be a major priority.

Medical Services

114.

A wide range of medical treatment and rehabilitation services for the disabled already exists. The objective during the next ten years will be:

(a)

to provide, as comprehensively as practicable, day centres, out-patient clinics and long stay care homes;
