REGULATIONS 1980

Made by the Governor in Council under section 73

1。 These regulations may be cited as the Women and

Young Persons (Industry) Regulations 1980 and shall come

into operation on the day appointed for the commencement of

the Employment (Amendment) Ordinance 1980.

Interpre- tation.

2. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise

requires

"employer" includes a proprietor;

"industrial undertaking" has the meaning assigned to it in

the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance;

"period of employment means the period (inclusive of the

time allowed for meals and rest) within which persons

may be employed on any day;

"proprietor has the meaning assigned to it in the Factories

and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance;

"rest day" means a day of the week on which, under

regulation 14(1) a woman or young person shall not

be employed in any industrial undertaking;
